hi everyone. So yesterday i came home to find my cat Bella in my room and next to her was a spider. I immedately killed the spider and checked her to make sure she was okay. I then checked her and noticed that some of the hair on her chin was gone. later that night she started to have diarrhea and was vomiting. I called the vet this morning and got her an appointment. They checked her out and shaved some more of the hair on her chin and she did indeed get bit by the spider. She also had a temp of 104. They gave her some fluids and some shots and sent me home with prednisone and clavomox to give her. I just wanted to know has this happened to anyone else here? Did your cat ever get bit by a spider and how did they respond to treatment? She is doing better now, she is eating and drinking water. I hate that this has happened and i am hoping she will get better.

Tigger never did. What kind of a spider was it?
I hope Bella continues to improve.

Hello. i think it was a wolf spider. i am deathly afraid of spiders so i really didn't look at it close to enough to see what it was lol. it defintely wasn't a brown recluse. Bella is doing just fine now, back to her normal self. thanks for asking.

Glad Bella is fine and you had the good sense to go to Vet right away. Prednisone is a steroide and the other an antibiotic. When taken together for no more than 10 days. Ususlly only 5 days on the pred. it does very well. Just dont ever let a Vet prescribe Prednisone for extended use. Way to go, getting her 2 Vet right away. Hugs, Bobbie
