About Me:
I have been in South Carolina about 2+ yrs. I left New York State, from a bad relationship, but unfortunately....I had to leave behind 15 beloved kitties, too. I felt worse about that than leaving my 20 yr live-in boyfriend.
However...I seem to attract kitties. First, Pookey showed up as a stray...he's been with us a little over a year. Then...about 4 1/2 weeks ago....little Nutmeg showed up following Pookey all around and half starved. I managed to grab her and she's been inside....happy and healthy since.

My left behind kitties!!

I left New York State 2 1/2 years ago due to an emotionally abusive relationship, which I had been in for 20+ years. We had at least 20 cats with us at the time...some born in 2000 on a hill in the country. I saw them being born!! ^.^ But, with things getting bad in our relationship, I had to decide to leave!! I left them with plenty of help behind...people who take care of things if it got tough!1 I love each and every one of those kitties and knew their little "quirk' and personalities. They o… Continue

How I love my "Squeaker"!!

When I lived in a house in the country, we found a kitty left behind from the previous owners, She had 4 kittens that Spring....then all of them had kittens the following Spring. We knew almost nothing about cats at that time.
All the kitties were much loved by us. They were funny, loving little critters and when they turned 4 months old in July that year, they all got sick, while we were out doing craft shows. One little girl was our favorite. Her name was Squeaker, for obvious reasons and she… Continue

Wow! it must have been heart breaking for you to leave behind your cats...I can only imagine!!! But clearly you have an affinity for cats and it is great that you take them in. I'm sure your name gets around in the cat universe....and soon many more will migrate down to find you :-)

Our other kitty was just "found" last week. She appeared following Pookey around and was very, very hungry. She gobbled his food down, but ran away from us. She was so tiny!!! Before a major thunderstorm, I held Pookey and got her to come close to him, where I could grab her and put her inside. Right away she calmed down and started sleeping and eating...that was about all she could do. You could feel her poor little backbone and ribs....I think we got her just in time!! Sh'es now a week later a happy, galloping little fat kitten. I estimate her age at about 8-10 weeks old. She is a long haired Tortoise shell with beautiful green eyes, and purrs like a motor!!! See pics of her from when we first found her to present. Pookey is just getting used to her!!!(lol, lol)

"Pookey" is my 2+ yr old male Tuxedo cat. I had left a bad situation in New York State to live with someone in South Carolina and had to leave my beloved 15 cats behind. We found Pookey as a stray, scared kitty and eventually got him to come closer to the house. One day I looked out the screen door while cooking supper and he was sitting there rubbing his head against the screen. I slowly and gently reached my out the door and petted his head and he's been "MY" kitty ever since. He's and indoor/outdoor cat and loves to sit in laps with his little head down. He's the sweetest kitty ever. At some point when he was a kitten, he must have had his leg broken, because he can't bend it and it makes him even cuter when he sits with that little leg stuck straight out. He loves us to pieces and even brought a little "starving" kitten home last week. We adopted her and are currently trying to fatten her up, since she was skin and bones!!! I think we caught her just in time. I'll post pics of her, too. Pookey, however, is our "special" boy!!!
