OUR CONSTITUTION THE TRUTH THAT LEADS TO LIBERTY

In all the years that's come and gone.
Where was it friend, that we went wrong?
The path was straight, our founders set.
They wrote it down, lest we forget.
But some would change the words they wrote,
And turn it from a true clear note.
To fit the day and way they live,
And thus a different meaning give.
They say the constitution lives.
And quibble over what "is", is.
To them it lives and thus is changed.
To be as they would rearrange.
But truth stands firm and changes not.
Just as their God, whose wisdom sought.
They asked of God to guide their hand.
He heard their prayer and blessed our land.
Two hundred years it served us well.
What lies ahead we cannot tell.
The truth is there for all to see.
The truth that leads to liberty.
